Meeting August 11 to discuss nut rot and root rot in Michigan

Registration is now open to attend the August 11 chestnut meeting at Clarksville. It will be full of information regarding a new nut disease called brown rot or chestnut rot and its potential interaction with Asian chestnut gall wasp. Also Phytophthora root rot will be discussed and a treatment will be demonstrated. An Italian chestnut processor, Aroldo Mastrogregori, owner of Mastrogregori Chestnuts will speak on the Italian chestnut industry and what they do to manage the nut rots at the receiving and storage facility.
